Part-Time Independent Contractor (1099)
Opportunities Throughout Delaware | In-Home & Community-Based
Master’s or Doctoral Degree Required

Build Your Clinical Experience While Making a Difference

You’ve completed your graduate education. Now you’re looking for an opportunity to continue developing as a clinician while doing meaningful work with children and families.

Kaleidoscope Family Solutions is seeking master’s- and doctoral-level mental health clinicians to provide outpatient therapy services to children, youth, and families throughout Delaware.

This part-time independent-contractor opportunity can be a strong fit for clinicians who are working toward professional licensure, as well as licensed professionals looking for flexible community-based clinical work.

What You’ll Do

As an Outpatient Mental Health Clinician, you’ll provide individualized mental health services to children, youth, and families, primarily in their homes and communities.

You will:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, including diagnosis, clinical disposition, and treatment recommendations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with youth, families, and other supports
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy based on clinical need
  • Help youth strengthen coping skills and manage emotions and behaviors
  • Support improved family and peer relationships
  • Provide crisis intervention and planning
  • Educate youth and families about diagnoses, symptoms, treatment options, and available resources
  • Utilize evidence-based and best-practice approaches to treatment
  • Coordinate services with DPBHS and other professionals and agencies involved with the family
  • Advocate for youth and families in accessing needed services and resources
  • Complete required clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA standards

A Strong Opportunity for Pre-Licensed Clinicians

You do not need to already hold an independent Delaware clinical license to be considered.

Licensure in Delaware as an LCSW, LPCMH, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist is preferred. Unlicensed clinicians must be in the process of obtaining the required clinical supervision hours toward professional licensure.

Unlicensed therapists participate in weekly clinical supervision with a licensed mental health professional, in accordance with state requirements.

For clinicians beginning their careers after graduate school, this role offers an opportunity to gain meaningful experience providing therapy to children and families while continuing professional development toward licensure.

Essential Skills for Success

We’re looking for clinicians who can combine strong clinical knowledge with empathy, professionalism, and the ability to build meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Important skills and knowledge include:

  • Individual, family, and group counseling
  • Clinical assessment and treatment planning
  • DSM-5 diagnosis
  • Crisis intervention
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Child and adolescent development
  • Family systems
  • Evidence-based treatment approaches
  • Cultural responsiveness
  • Clinical documentation
  • Communication and collaboration
  • Knowledge of community resources and supports

Who Qualifies?

Candidates must have earned a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, or another Human Services field.

Delaware clinical licensure is preferred but is not required for otherwise-qualified clinicians who are actively working toward professional licensure and obtaining required clinical supervision hours.

Candidates must also meet KFS credentialing requirements and be able to successfully complete required background and Child Abuse Registry checks.

Location, Schedule & Flexibility

Opportunities are available throughout Delaware, with services provided primarily in clients’ homes and community settings.

This is a community-based role and is not remote.

This is a part-time independent-contractor (1099) opportunity offering flexibility based on clinician availability and the needs of individual clients and families.

Because services are provided to children and families, available cases may include after-school, evening, daytime, and other hours based on the needs of each individual case.

Clinicians can consider available cases based on their location, availability, clinical interests, and schedule.

Hours vary based on referrals, client needs, clinician availability, and successful client matching and are not guaranteed to be full-time.

What You’ll Gain

This opportunity provides hands-on clinical experience in:

  • Child and adolescent mental health
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Psychosocial assessment
  • DSM-5 diagnosis
  • Treatment planning
  • Crisis intervention
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Family systems
  • Clinical documentation
  • Community-based mental health services
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Connecting families with community resources

For unlicensed clinicians, weekly clinical supervision is provided by a licensed mental health professional as required by state regulations.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Successfully complete criminal background and Child Abuse Registry checks
  • Meet KFS credentialing requirements
  • Maintain required credentials and documentation
  • Complete accurate invoices and clinical progress notes according to required deadlines
  • Maintain appropriate professional and ethical standards
  • Protect client privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
