Position Summary

Mason EnterpriseTM is the only place in the country where all of the programs that support entrepreneurship, small business, technology commercialization are under one entity. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college student to support an innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) project designed to enhance services provided by small business counselors and advisors. The Student AI Project Assistant will help research, test, organize, and improve AI-powered tools and resources that assist counselors in serving entrepreneurs and small business owners more effectively.

This role offers hands-on experience with emerging AI technologies, business consulting, research, data analysis, and product development while contributing to a project with meaningful impact on the entrepreneurship and small business community.

Key Responsibilities

• Research AI tools, platforms, and best practices relevant to small business advising.
• Assist in developing and testing AI prompts, workflows, and knowledge resources.
• Review AI-generated outputs for accuracy, quality, and usefulness.
• Organize business guidance, educational materials, and reference content for use within AI systems.
• Conduct user testing and gather feedback from counselors and stakeholders.
• Document findings, recommendations, and project progress.
• Assist with data entry, content tagging, and knowledge-base management.
• Analyze trends and identify opportunities to improve AI-assisted counseling services.
• Support project meetings and prepare summaries, reports, and presentations.
• Help create training materials and user guides for counselors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in GMU, any major.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and research abilities.
• Comfortable learning new technology applications.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Curiosity about artificial intelligence and business technology.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to evaluate information for accuracy and relevance.
• Basic understanding of small business operations or entrepreneurship.
• Experience conducting research and preparing reports.
