Basketball Trainer Intern – Paid Position

Position Type: Part-time, paid internship

Danny Cooper Basketball is looking for motivated and dependable Basketball Trainer Interns to help coach and support our growing youth basketball academy. This is a hands-on opportunity for college students interested in coaching, sports management, exercise science, physical education, or working with young athletes.

Our academy works with players ranging from kindergarten through high school. Interns will gain real coaching experience while learning how a successful basketball training program operates.

Responsibilities:

Assist coaches during group basketball training sessions

Help lead warm-ups, drills, skill stations, and competitive games

Demonstrate basketball skills and provide players with positive feedback

Help create an energetic, organized, and welcoming environment

Learn players’ names and build positive relationships with athletes

Help set up and clean up equipment before and after sessions

Greet players and parents when they arrive

Support coaches with attendance, session organization, and player safety

Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned sessions

Represent Danny Cooper Basketball professionally

Qualifications:

Previous basketball playing or coaching experience is preferred

Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals

Dependable, energetic, coachable, and professional

Comfortable working with children and teenagers

Strong communication and leadership skills

Willingness to learn the Danny Cooper Basketball training system

Ability to work afternoon, evening, and/or weekend sessions

Reliable transportation to AFC Fitness in Bala Cynwyd
