FREELANCE CONTENT CREATOR & EVENTS ASSISTANT FOR GROWING INDEPENDENT BEAUTY BRAND

Part-time · London / Remote
£1,000 gross per month 
Initial 3-month contract with potential to extend

We’re looking for someone creative, savvy and chronically online to join SLATE Body.

Someone who can spot a TikTok idea before it blows up. Who knows when an edit feels too slow. Who can make an iPhone shot feel editorial. And who is just as happy behind a laptop editing as they are walking up to a stranger with a camera and a question.

You’ll spend as much time creating and being out in the world as you will behind a laptop.

One day you might be at home turning raw footage into TikToks. The next you could be shooting around London, interviewing people, setting up a pop-up, handing out product or helping us bring an idea to life.

We’re a growing beauty brand, so there’s room to make the role your own.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

CREATE

  • Film and edit TikToks, Reels and other short-form social content
  • Turn raw footage into content people enjoy watching
  • Come up with concepts, hooks, formats and recurring content ideas
  • Shoot product, lifestyle, founder and behind-the-scenes content
  • Capture content around London and at SLATE Body events
  • Interview people for street-style and social-first content
  • Keep an eye on trends, sounds, conversations and internet culture
  • Help run our TikTok and other social channels when required

GET OUT THERE

  • Help organise and run SLATE Body pop-ups, events and activations
  • Talk to customers and introduce them to the brand
  • Hand out product, merch and cards
  • Capture reactions, interviews and spontaneous content
  • Represent SLATE Body in a way that feels natural, confident and on-brand

YOU

We care much more about what you can make than how impressive your CV looks.

You should:

  • Have strong short-form video editing skills
  • Have examples of TikToks, Reels or other content you’ve personally created
  • Know your way around CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut or similar
  • Understand TikTok and Instagram beyond simply using them
  • Understand what makes someone stop scrolling
  • Have a genuinely good visual eye
  • Be comfortable filming on an iPhone and/or camera
  • Understand framing, lighting and how to make organic footage look good
  • Be confident speaking to strangers and interviewing people
  • Be comfortable being on camera and recording voiceovers 
  • Be organised with pulling together last-minute events
  • Be proactive – we welcome ideas, suggestions and initiative 
  • Be able to work independently 
  • Live in London or be able to get around London easily

Bonus points for experience in beauty, fashion, lifestyle, hospitality, events or another culturally relevant brand.

Taste, instinct, personality and execution matter more to us.

THE SET-UP

3 days per week / 18 hours

Usually around 6 hours per day, with flexibility around the actual days depending on shoots and events.

The role is remote-first. Most editing, planning and day-to-day work can be done from home.

There will also be regular shoots, pop-ups, activations and events in London, so you’ll need to be available in person when required. Some may occasionally fall in the evening or at weekends, with working hours adjusted accordingly.

Salary: £1,000 gross per month.

Reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses incurred specifically for SLATE Body shoots, events and other work assignments will be reimbursed.

Initial 3-month fixed-term contract, including a one-month probationary period, with the potential to extend as the brand and role grow.
