Elementary Art Assistant

The Loft Collective is an arts enrichment program for preschoolers to middle schoolers with two locations: Takoma Park and Hyattsville MD. We are seeking a teaching assistant in our elementary after school program. This individual will work with the lead teacher to plan and prep art curriculum that engages kids and provides substantive opportunities to explore a variety of art materials. Key responsibilities include gathering kids daily from the bus stop near our studio, supervising playground play and studio time with attention to safety and positive social development, and delivering art instruction in a way that fosters exploration and creativity. 

An excellent candidate for this job has experience supervising or working with children, a passion for art education, and afternoon availability. This role requires a high level of responsibility and reliability. We are looking for someone who displays ease with children, attention to improving programming and solving problems, and who works well with other adults in both a practical and creative capacity.
