Research Coordinator

We are seeking a high potential, entry-level individual to join our US team, based in Palo Alto, in a hybrid role that combines hands on investment research support, with research coordination and executive support. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants direct exposure to fundamental investment research and to the inner workings of a hedge fund and private equity business.  We are seeking a driven, versatile and highly organized individual to work directly under the Chief Investment Officer, Dan Gibson. This is a growth orientated role and the responsibilities of this individual are expected to ramp with their competence.

Research & Investment Support

  • Directly supporting the fundamental investment research activities of the Chief Investment Officer, focused on the technology industry
  • Adding value through direct company research, including financial analysis and fundamental research projects, to support the building of strong investment theses over long time horizons
  • Performing ad hoc research and data gathering projects

Research Coordination

  • Monitoring earnings release dates and communications from portfolio and prospective companies
  • Organizing expert network calls and portfolio company calls with external parties
  • Liaising with corporate investor relations teams and sell-side research firms to coordinate the firm's corporate access and research
  • Organizing conference attendance and liaising with prime brokers to arrange meetings

Executive & Business Support

  • Managing travel and logistics, including offsite conferences, site visits, and other research trips
  • Assisting with processing expenses
  • Office management, including landlord and service provider coordination and supplies
  • Event planning, including the annual investment retreat and US office activities
  • Support with business development, compliance and legal

Outcomes

  • You will materially improve the operational and investment effectiveness of the Chief Investment Officer. 
  • You will integrate into the team environment and, over time, add value to the culture.
  • You will develop quickly in the role and be in a position to take on increasing responsibility throughout your tenure. 
  • After a period of three years you will be in a position to have forged your own role within the business and be hiring a replacement Research Coordinator.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with an emphasis on time management, attention to detail, and thoroughness; ability to plan, set priorities, and manage tasks and deadlines effectively
