Are you looking for a hands-on career where you can learn a specialized trade and work directly with a skilled artisan? We are seeking an Ice Carver Trainee to join a growing ice sculpture business in Commerce Township.

This is much more than a labor position. While you'll begin by learning the physical side of the business, you'll have the opportunity to grow into sculpture design, CNC programming, customer service, and business operations. For the right person, this could develop into a long-term career path with the potential to eventually take over ownership of the business.

What You'll Do

  • Harvest and handle large ice blocks
  • Load, mount, and remove ice from CNC carving machines
  • Operate CNC equipment used to create ice sculptures
  • Perform basic finishing work and 2D carving details
  • Wrap sculptures for transportation and delivery
  • Load ice sculptures into company vehicles
  • Deliver sculptures to customers throughout the local area
  • Assist with production and shop operations
  • Learn all aspects of ice sculpture creation and business operations

As you develop your skills, you'll have opportunities to:

  • Assist with customer communications and order management

What We're Looking For

  • Physically strong and capable of lifting and moving heavy materials
  • Comfortable working in cold temperatures and freezer environments
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Mechanically inclined and eager to learn
  • Career-oriented with an interest in developing specialized skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work directly with the business owner
  • Valid driver's license preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting and moving of heavy ice blocks
  • Standing, bending, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday
  • Working in freezer environments for extended periods
  • Accommodations can be made to reduce lifting requirements when appropriate
