Minister Of Students

Title: Minister of Students

Report to: Senior Pastor

Category: Ministerial Staff

ROLES

Develop and communicate age-appropriate events for students.
Communicate the overall vision, goals, and strategy of the students to the
community.
Partner with parents to help them realize God's dream for their student with the goal to produce teenagers who are authentic Disciples of Christ, reaching others for Christ with the purpose of evangelism and discipleship.
Attend meetings as requested.
Develop an annual budget for students in conjunction with Senior Pastor.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Develop relationships with students during weekly experiences, small groups, and serving opportunities.
Develop and motivate adults and students to become leaders.
Assure proper care of facilities used by the Middle & High schoolers.

Maintain effective leadership for the student ministry. Provide support and assistance as required, but empower volunteers and leaders to serve as appointed.
Provide formal (structured) and informal (by example) leadership training for the team.
Provide formal and informal meetings for frequent communication, encouragement, and evaluation for the volunteers. As the coach, create a team atmosphere.
Create consistency in leadership and programs by building a relational youth ministry team.

Provide information to parents and teens no less than one month in advance.
Maintain a well-planned, carefully balanced program throughout the year coordinated with the church calendar of events.
Provide parents with a calendar of events spanning at least 6 months.
Encourage attendance to activities and events.

GOAL

To lead students in 6th-12th grade to become fully devoted followers of Christ. By teaching truth through God’s Word and being culturally relevant.

The ability to discern needs and respond appropriately, sensitively, and
proactively
A high degree of professionalism
Will read and assent to the OneFocusChurch.com vision and mission
Will be committed to tithing to OneFocusChurch.com

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Must be a born-again believer with a maturing relationship with Christ.
Must show a faithful pursuit of leadership characteristics as listed in 1 Timothy 3.
Must have a strong desire to serve God.

Attend weekly meeting with staff for prayer and planning
Attend weekly meeting with Senior Pastor for review and planning
Review and discuss annual job performance evaluation with Senior Pastor.
Present vacation request to the Senior Pastor at least one month in advance. (It will be your responsibility to secure replacement coverage as needed.)
