Emergency Services Crisis Supports Clinician

CLINICAL SUPERVISION FOR LICENSURE PROVIDED

Valley Community Services Board is seeking an Emergency Services Crisis Supports Clinician to join our Emergency Services Crisis Supports Team. Under the direction of the Emergency Services Program Supervisor, you'll work as part of a highly qualified team providing crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, and pre-admission screening services to individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.

In this role, you'll respond to crisis calls, complete psychiatric and substance use pre-admission screenings, determine appropriate levels of care, and connect individuals with services that best meet their immediate needs. You'll work with individuals, families, hospitals, law enforcement, courts, and community providers to help ensure people receive the appropriate level of care while supporting the least restrictive intervention possible.

Starting pay of $55,124.93 - $84,524.66 per year, dependent upon education, experience, and licensure.

Non-licensed clinician salary range: $55,124.93 - $59,022.04.

Licensed clinician salary range: $60,637.42 - $84,524.66.

What You'll Do

As an Emergency Services Crisis Supports Clinician, you'll provide timely clinical intervention and help determine the appropriate level of care for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. Responsibilities include:

Complete crisis support and stabilization intakes, including initial screenings and brief treatment using therapeutic techniques appropriate to the individual and presenting concern.

Respond to crisis situations when hospitalization is not requested or clinically appropriate and provide crisis stabilization and/or referrals to appropriate services.

Complete pre-admission screenings for psychiatric and substance use hospitalizations.

Determine the least restrictive appropriate level of care, including voluntary or involuntary hospitalization, crisis stabilization services, and outpatient follow-up.

Assess whether individuals meet criteria for involuntary commitment and initiate appropriate processes when necessary.

Respond to crisis calls within 15 minutes and other calls within 24 hours, in accordance with program requirements.

Respond to face-to-face ECO/TDO requests within two hours.

Assist with judicial processes, including commitment hearings, Mandatory Outpatient Treatment (MOT), and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) processes.

Collaborate with individuals, families, hospitals, law enforcement, courts, treatment providers, and other community partners to coordinate appropriate services.

Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and safety planning while maintaining a focus on client rights and the least restrictive level of care.

Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DBHDS, DMAS, HIPAA, and agency requirements.
