Accountant

Valley Community Services Board is seeking a motivated Accountant to join our Finance team. The Accountant provides essential support and ownership across a broad range of accounting functions and works collaboratively with colleagues throughout the agency to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient financial reporting.

In this role, you'll manage and reconcile financial information, monitor accounts receivable, analyze accounting transactions, support monthly close-out processes, and collaborate with fund managers and other stakeholders across the agency. Starting pay of $50,000.16 - $69,696.62 per year, dependent upon education and experience.

What You'll Do

As an Accountant, you'll help ensure the agency's financial information is accurate, well-documented, and effectively managed while providing support to fund managers and colleagues throughout Valley CSB. Responsibilities include:

Manage general ledger activities, including maintaining appropriate documentation, completing reconciliations, accurately coding revenue, verifying bank transactions, and ensuring payments for client services are appropriately entered.

Monitor general business accounts receivable and take appropriate action to support the timely collection of outstanding balances.

Analyze revenue and expenses through periodic testing of accounting transactions to identify discrepancies and ensure financial information is accurate.

Conduct monthly close-out of accounting records in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Prepare draft financial reports for review and approval.

Serve as a primary point of contact for fund managers and collaborate with them to address financial questions, discrepancies, and reporting needs.

Participate in periodic internal audits and reviews to proactively identify process deficiencies, policy gaps, and accounting errors.

Assist with biannual cash audits, quarterly vendor W-9 file reviews, and assessments related to timely payments.

Collaborate with Accounting team members, fund managers, and other internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve accounting errors promptly and accurately.

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with agency policies and applicable requirements.
