Business Development & Sales Intelligence Analyst (Part-Time)

About Live Solutions

Live Solutions is a minority-owned, family-run manufacturing engineering and consulting firm helping companies modernize and optimize their operations through process engineering, Industry 4.0 automation, and data-driven solutions. We leverage a modular, scalable workforce model and a robust network of engineers, solution providers, and OEMs to deliver right-sized expertise to clients across every manufacturing vertical. Our strategic framework is built on five pillars – people, process, technology, equipment, and design – and our approach is grounded in Lean Six Sigma and Smart Manufacturing principles.

We're small, agile, and growing – and we need someone who can help us find and connect with the companies that need what we do.

Position Overview

We're seeking an analytical, self-driven Business Development & Sales Intelligence Analyst to own our market intelligence and lead generation engine. This role is the bridge between our data and our growth – you'll be responsible for digesting our business data, identifying companies that fit our target profile, mapping the right decision-makers, and developing the outreach strategies to reach them.

This is a part-time role designed for someone who is resourceful, comfortable leveraging AI and data tools, and able to work cross-functionally with the CEO and marketing resources to build a pipeline of qualified opportunities. You'll be using our full AI suite and toolset to research, analyze, and strategize – and you'll be expected to report your findings, recommendations, and progress clearly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Target Identification: Analyze existing business data and market intelligence to identify companies that align with Live Solutions' service offerings across manufacturing verticals (food & beverage, battery technology, biotech, consumer goods, aerospace, and more)
  • Account Mapping & Contact Discovery: Research and identify key decision-makers within target accounts – operations leaders, plant managers, engineering directors, VP of Manufacturing, C-suite executives – and map out reporting structures and influence networks
  • Outreach Strategy Development: Build tailored engagement strategies for target accounts, including approach channels, messaging angles, and sequencing – informed by company size, industry, current events, and identified pain points
  • AI & Data Tool Utilization: Leverage our internally developed, opensource AI suite and available data tools (including but not limited to CRM platforms, AI-powered research tools, prospecting platforms, and industry databases) to scale intelligence gathering and lead qualification
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and update lead/prospect data in our project management and EspoCRM systems; track outreach status, responses, and next steps
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with the CEO to align target accounts with strategic growth priorities; coordinate with the Marketing & Content Team to ensure outreach and content strategies are complementary
  • Competitive & Industry Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, news cycles, and competitor activity to identify timely outreach opportunities and refine targeting criteria
  • Reporting & Recommendations: Deliver regular written and oral reports on pipeline status, target account progress, market insights, and recommended next actions

Required Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in market research, business intelligence, or sales/lead generation (academic, internship, or professional)
  • Proficiency with at least one CRM and project management platform (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, ClickUp, or similar. We use EspoCRM and OpenProject)
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools for research, data synthesis, and workflow automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – this role requires regular reporting to leadership and the ability to clearly articulate strategy and rationale
  • Self-directed work style – ability to take a strategic objective, break it down into actionable steps, and execute independently
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B lead generation, account-based marketing (ABM), or sales development
  • High exposure and deep understanding of AI tools such as coding, design, and automation harnesses is a huge plus
  • Familiarity with prospecting and intelligence tools and the ability to communicate what works and what doesn’t (e.g., ZoomInfo, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clearbit, or similar)
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or technology sectors
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, or digital transformation trends
  • Experience building or contributing to sales playbooks or outreach frameworks

What You'll Gain

  • Direct exposure to business development strategy at a growing, agile consulting firm
  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered sales intelligence and modern prospecting workflows
  • Cross-functional collaboration with company founders and leadership
  • Opportunity to shape and build a scalable lead generation engine from the ground up
  • Deep exposure to the manufacturing and Industry 4.0 landscape
