Geokimika is looking for a smart, conscientious, and organized person who wants to learn how a modern oil and gas laboratory operates. Prior laboratory experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person to become a capable oil and gas laboratory analyst.
The OpportunityThis position is designed for someone who is curious, careful, dependable, and interested in building real analytical laboratory skills. You will work directly with an experienced management team of chemical professionals and learn the day-to-day operation of an oil and gas laboratory, including analytical technologies, sample workflow, quality practices, data review, and reporting. We are interested in developing people, not simply filling a bench position.
What You Will Do- Learn to operate the laboratory's analytical technologies and supporting equipment.
- Prepare, process, and analyze laboratory samples according to established methods and procedures.
- Document results accurately and submit clear analytical reports to management.
- Maintain organized sample, instrument, and laboratory records.
- Assist with instrument checks, routine maintenance, calibration, and general laboratory readiness.
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and housekeeping practices.
- Develop broader knowledge of oilfield chemistry and laboratory operations as your experience grows.
- Some college coursework; science, chemistry, engineering, or another technical field is a plus.
- Laboratory exposure through school, research, or professional work is preferred.
- No previous oil and gas laboratory experience is required for a strong candidate.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and conscientious work habits.
- Comfort learning technical equipment, software, procedures, and new concepts.
- A genuine desire to learn laboratory operations and develop as an analyst.
