X Art Lab is seeking a creative, responsible, and enthusiastic Art Education & Studio Intern to join our growing art studio. This internship is ideal for a college student studying Studio Art, Art Education, Illustration, Painting, or a related field who is interested in gaining hands-on experience teaching art and developing creative programs for children.

The intern will work closely with X Art Lab's instructors to learn how art classes are planned, developed, and taught. A key part of the position will be assisting with and teaching in-person children's art classes on Tuesdays. The intern will have opportunities to lead age-appropriate projects while receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced artists and educators.

Responsibilities include assisting with and gradually leading children's art classes; developing creative lesson plans and project ideas; preparing materials and demonstrations; helping students explore painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, mixed media, and art history; documenting and displaying student artwork; maintaining an organized and welcoming studio environment; and contributing ideas for future X Art Lab programs.

We are looking for someone who is creative, energetic, dependable, comfortable working with children, and interested in art education. Previous teaching experience is helpful but not required. Strong art-making skills and the ability to communicate positively with children are preferred.

Tuesday in-person availability is required. Additional internship hours can be arranged around the student's academic schedule.

This position is intended to provide a meaningful educational experience with professional mentorship and may be eligible for college internship credit, subject to approval by the student's institution.
