Job Title: Laser Component Test Intern
Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Laser Component Test Intern to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting laser components to ensure they meet quality standards and performance specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate laser components, including diodes, optics, and assemblies
Perform electrical, optical, and mechanical measurements using specialized tools and instrumentation
Document test results, analyze data, and report findings to engineering and quality teams
Troubleshoot component failures and assist in root cause analysis
Maintain calibration and cleanliness of test stations and equipment
Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with engineers to improve test processes and resolve technical issues
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree in electronics, optics, physics, or related field, or equivalent experience
Basic knowledge of laser technology and optical components
Experience with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrometers, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
Familiarity with ISO quality standards
Proficiency in data analysis software (Excel, LabVIEW, etc.)
