Master's Level Behavior Consultant Intern
Innovations In Learning is seeking a full-time Master’s Level Behavior Consultant/Therapist Intern, to help improve the quality of life of individuals with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities using principles of Behavior Analysis. The interns responsibilities include helping their mentor with clients reduce any maladaptive behaviors and assist them with developing healthier, functionally appropriate replacement behaviors including teaching them how to communicate their needs, advocating for themselves, develop appropriate coping mechanisms, etc. Prior experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and evaluation of children and adults with and without Disabilities and/or Autism.
- Create programming specific to client needs to help them achieve their individual potential
- Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans
- Consult with outside providers and train staff, caregivers, and family on recommended interventions
- Complete in person sessions at client’s home, day program, community, or workplace as appropriate.
- Monitor progress and make data driven recommendations.
Requirements:
- Must be currently working on a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related mental health field.
- Certification/Licensure not required
- Reliable transportation
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to assess client needs and assist with problem solving
- Experience working with our population is preferred, but not required
- Interest/experience in behavior analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
