SCC Security Operations Internship
$20 per hour
You: A student who has an interest in public service and would like to use their technical skills to contribute to the mission of an independent state agency.
As an intern, you will:
- Engage in REAL work that contributes to the public-service mission of the SCC,
- Work with and learn from senior staff members who are subject-matter experts in their fields,
- Perform assignments in support of the Enterprise Technology Services division, and
- Participate in professional development and social activities with fellow SCC interns

Security Operations Intern
As a Security Operations Intern, you will
- Assist in responding to Security Operations Service Desk requests and Security Access Requests
- Review phishing emails and respond to SCC staff
- Perform RSA token assignment, removal, and replacement
- Pull weekly RSA and CyberArk reports for review in weekly threat meetings
- Administer and maintain Privileged Access Management systems, including applying security patches and monthly updates
- Build documentation around Security Operations processes, as well as assist in annual review of documentation
- Assist Security Operations team with access reviews and yearly inventory
- Assist in Arctic Wolf and Azure Defender Alerts and Incident Response
- Participate in Firewall Assessments
- Help transition from Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to a full featured insider threat program
- Support vulnerability management efforts for security operations team
- Assist as needed with ongoing business projects involving ETS Security Operations
Experience and Qualifications:
- Continuing student majoring in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology and related majors
- Graduating between December 2027 - May 2029
- Ability to work 40 hours per week in an in-person or hybrid work environment from May through August 2027. Required to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week

Contingent on business needs at the completion of the summer internship, the division may offer part-time work hours during the semester to continuing students or offer a full-time permanent position following the intern’s graduation.
