Turn Travel Ideas Into Meaningful Experiences
A memorable vacation is more than a flight and a hotel. It is a carefully designed experience shaped around the traveler’s personality, interests, priorities, and vision.
Mattis Travel is looking for creative, resourceful individuals to become Travel Experience Designers. You will work with clients to transform their ideas into complete travel experiences from selecting the right destination and accommodations to recommending activities, transportation, dining, and memorable personal touches.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys discovering new places, researching possibilities, organizing details, and helping others create meaningful memories.
No previous travel industry experience is required. Training and professional support are provided through a host agency.

Birthday, anniversary, and milestone trips
Solo travel experiences
Group vacations and celebrations
Accessible and sensory conscious trips
LGBTQ+ welcoming travel experiences
Multigenerational family vacations
All-inclusive resort stays
Domestic and international itineraries
You may choose to specialize in one area or develop experience across several travel markets.

As a Travel Experience Designer, you will:
Meet with clients by telephone, video chat, or email to understand their travel vision
Ask thoughtful questions about interests, budgets, schedules, and priorities

Compare available options and explain them clearly to clients
Build personalized vacation proposals and organized itineraries
Coordinate reservations, payment schedules, travel documents, and important deadlines
Recommend experiences that add meaning and value to each journey
Review supplier terms, cancellation policies, and travel requirements
Present travel-protection options without making coverage guarantees
Follow up with clients throughout the planning process
Remain available for appropriate support before, during, and after travel
Build your client portfolio through networking, referrals, social media, and community connections
Maintain accurate client, reservation, and commission records
Continue developing your destination and supplier knowledge

Earnings and Independent-Contractor Status
This is a commission-based independent-contractor opportunity. It does not include an hourly wage, salary, traditional employee benefits, paid time off, guaranteed bookings, or guaranteed income.
Potential earnings may come from eligible individual reservations, vacation packages, cruises, group travel, supplier incentives, referrals, planning services where permitted, and other approved travel-related activities.
Actual earnings depend on personal effort, completed travel, supplier commission policies, client development, cancellations, and booking volume.
Contractors establish their own schedules, develop their own client portfolios, maintain their necessary equipment, and are responsible for applicable taxes and business expenses. United States-based contractors receive Form 1099 when legally required. Contractors outside the United States must follow applicable local tax and business requirements.
Any startup expenses, ongoing costs, commission terms, and program conditions are reviewed during an informational meeting before a candidate decides whether to move forward.
