About the Role
We are looking for instructors to lead small-group STEAM lessons for students ages 5–17, teaching robotics, electronics, 3D design, and coding through hands-on building. We have multiple openings and flexible scheduling, so we can work around your class schedule. Placement and pay are determined during the interview process based on availability, experience, and program fit.
This role is best suited to someone who loves the physical, hands-on side of engineering. Assembling robots, wiring circuits, troubleshooting builds, in addition to programming. This is not a coding-only role.
What You Will Do
- Teach hands-on lessons such as: robotics, electronics, 3D design, and coding
- Guide students through building and assembling physical projects, not just writing code
- Adapt our provided curriculum for different age groups and skill levels
- Build an engaging, inclusive classroom environment
- Support students one-on-one as they complete weekly projects
- Communicate with students, parents, and your teaching team
- Occasionally help showcase student projects on social media
What You Will Need
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Technical Education, or a related field
- Genuine enjoyment of hands-on building, assembly, and troubleshooting, not coding alone
- Comfort working with coding languages like Arduino, Scratch, and Python
- Know or Willingness to learn 3D printers, soldering equipment, and laser cutters
- Comfort working with children ages 5–17
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be 18 or older and able to pass a background check
- Availability for at least one weekday afternoon, weekday morning, or Saturday
Bonus Points
- Prior tutoring, TA, camp counselor, or mentorship experience
- Experience with graphic design, video production, or industrial design
- CPR/First Aid certification
