UPMC North Central PA - Student Nurse Internship (SNI) Program! 

Expected Graduation Dates Eligible to Apply: Fall 2027, Spring 2028, and Summer 2028.

Are you a nursing student looking to gain meaningful hands-on experience before graduation? The UPMC Student Nurse Internship (SNI) Program provides an opportunity to work side-by-side with an experienced nurse preceptor while developing clinical skills, confidence, and professional connections. This paid, 10-week summer internship is designed to help you bridge the gap between nursing education and professional practice.

Program Details

  • Paid 10-week summer internship
  • Program Dates: May 17 - July 23, 2027
  • Work at one assigned UPMC hospital for the summer
  • Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week, following your preceptor's schedule
  • Flexibility may be available to accommodate school commitments

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or BSN Nursing Program
  • Have an anticipated graduation date of Fall 2027, Spring 2028, or Summer 2028
  • Be available to attend orientation and program events
  • Be available to work throughout the summer with minimal absences
  • Hold an active American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross BLS certification throughout the program
  • Have a strong interest in pursuing a nursing career with UPMC
