Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Our facility specializes in musculoskeletal conditions, acute injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, athletic injuries, and preventative care. We take an integrative approach to patient care, combining physical therapy with other rehabilitation services to help patients reduce pain, restore mobility, improve function, and achieve their individual goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing comprehensive treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist
• Perform therapeutic exercises, stretching, manual therapy techniques, trigger point therapy, and other appropriate physical therapy interventions
• Assist patients with exercises and rehabilitation activities to improve strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and function
• Operate physical therapy equipment safely and effectively
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate concerns or changes to the supervising physical therapist
• Document patient treatment and progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and physical therapy documentation
• Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, caregivers, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment
• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, patient-centered care
• Foster a positive and encouraging therapeutic environment for patients

Requirements

• Current New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License in good standing
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and physical therapy principles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Comfortable using computers and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to safely operate physical therapy equipment
• Experience with outpatient orthopedics, rehabilitation, geriatrics, or musculoskeletal care is preferred
• Experience with manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic exercise is a plus
• CPR Certification preferred
