Licensed Mental Health Therapist – Part-Time Independent Contractor

Location: Key Biscayne, Florida

About the Practice

Key Biscayne Counseling is a growing private practice serving children, adolescents, adults, and families in the Key Biscayne and greater Miami community. We are committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based mental health services in a warm and supportive environment.

We are seeking a licensed mental health professional who enjoys working collaboratively while maintaining the independence and flexibility of private-practice work.

About the Position

The clinician will provide outpatient counseling services to clients referred through the practice. This is a part-time independent-contractor opportunity with the potential to expand as the practice continues to grow.

The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, warm, and comfortable working independently. Experience treating children, adolescents, and families is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and/or family counseling services

Complete timely clinical documentation and treatment plans

Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements

Follow all applicable ethical, professional, and Florida licensing standards

Communicate professionally with parents, caregivers, and other providers when clinically appropriate and properly authorized

Maintain an agreed-upon weekly schedule

Participate in occasional consultations or practice meetings

Maintain independent professional liability insurance

 

Required Qualifications

Active and unrestricted Florida license as an LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, psychologist, or other qualified mental health professional

Master’s degree in a mental health-related field

Eligibility to provide independent clinical services in Florida

Professional liability insurance

Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage assigned clinical responsibilities

Successful completion of required background screening

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with children, adolescents, and families

Training or experience in anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, parenting support, or family transitions

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Availability during after-school, evening, or weekend hours

Familiarity with private-practice documentation and electronic health-record systems

Compensation

Compensation is will be structured as a per-session rate and discussed during the interview process. As an independent contractor, the clinician is responsible for applicable taxes, professional expenses, and maintaining required licensure and insurance.
