About The Fortis Academy

The Fortis Academy is a sports performance and athlete development organization committed to helping athletes grow physically, mentally, and personally.

We work with athletes ranging from youth and developing competitors to high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. Our approach goes beyond simply making athletes stronger. We aim to develop better movers, better competitors, and stronger people through high-quality coaching, intentional relationships, and a culture built around excellence, leadership, and character.

We are looking for a Strength & Conditioning Coach who is passionate about coaching athletes, developing relationships, and becoming an integral part of the Fortis team.

The Strength & Conditioning Coach will be responsible for coaching athletes in individual, small-group, team, and camp settings at The Fortis Academy.

The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of strength and conditioning principles with the ability to communicate, motivate, teach, and build meaningful relationships with athletes.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working with athletes of different ages and ability levels and understands that great coaching involves much more than writing workouts. We are looking for a coach who takes ownership of athlete development, pays attention to detail, brings energy to the training environment, and continually seeks to improve as a professional.

Modify exercises and training sessions according to an athlete's age, training experience, injury history, movement ability, and performance goals.

Assist in the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs.

Conduct athlete assessments and use assessment information to guide training decisions.

Monitor athlete progress and communicate recommendations to athletes, parents, coaches, and other Fortis staff when appropriate.

Create an energetic, disciplined, positive, and encouraging training environment.

Develop strong professional relationships with athletes and families.

Help athletes develop consistency, work ethic, confidence, leadership, and personal responsibility.

Maintain organization and cleanliness of the training facility and equipment.

Assist with camps, combines, testing events, team training, and other Fortis programs.

Collaborate with other Fortis coaches to continually improve programming and the athlete experience.

Participate in staff development, education, meetings, and continuing professional development.

Represent The Fortis Academy professionally within the facility and throughout the broader athletic community.
