High School Biomedical Sciences Teacher (26/27 School Year)

Brooklyn Lab is looking for an exemplary 9th/10th grade Biomedical Sciences teacher to join our high school team for the 2026–27 school year.

Teaching at Brooklyn Lab isn't like teaching in a traditional school. We're built as small, tight-knit communities where every scholar is seen, known, and heard — and where teachers get to know each student's individual strengths and growth areas. Our faculty collaborates constantly: sharing best practices across teams and content areas, engaging in weekly professional development, and receiving individualized coaching to keep growing their craft.

We're an unapologetically college-prep program. We believe exceptional outcomes require exceptional preparation, which is why we run an extended school day (8:00 am–4:00 pm) and school year to help our scholars grow at exceptional levels.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver rigorous, Common Core-aligned instruction
  • Internalize our curriculum to prepare every student for graduation and success at a four-year college or university
  • Differentiate instruction and use small group learning to support all students, embodying our "inclusion for all" model
  • Use formative and summative assessments to continuously inform and improve instruction
  • Lead advisory groups focused on scholars' social-emotional development

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical science, or a related field (or a degree in Secondary Education); Master's preferred
  • NY State teaching certification, or willingness to become certified
  • A proven record of academic achievement, as both a student and an educator
  • At least two years of experience working with students
  • Experience teaching in urban and/or low-income communities preferred
  • A strong commitment to Brooklyn Lab's mission and vision for excellence
  • A growth mindset and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Comfort with accountability and openness to feedback, for your own growth and your students' success

Additional certification in special education or ESOL is a plus — Brooklyn Lab prioritizes hiring teachers who can provide extra support to students with special needs or limited English proficiency.

If you're ready to help transform education and inspire a diverse group of scholars with a lifelong love of learning, we'd love to hear from you.
