Youth Care Worker

Youth Care Worker (Full-Time Days or Part-time Nights)

Franklin, NC (Macon County)
Starting Pay: $15–$17/hour (based on education and experience)

Looking for a Career That Makes a Difference?

Every day, young people in our community need caring adults who can provide guidance, encouragement, and stability. If you're exploring a career in human services, education, psychology, social work, criminal justice, or a related field, this is an opportunity to gain valuable experience while making a lasting impact.

At Methodist Home for Children, we believe every child deserves a safe place to grow, heal, and succeed. As a Youth Care Worker, you'll become an important part of a team that helps adolescents develop life skills, build confidence, and prepare for brighter futures.

Whether you're changing careers, returning to school, or completing a continuing education program, we welcome individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a difference.

What You'll Do

As a Youth Care Worker, you'll:

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with adolescents.
  • Supervise daily routines and help maintain a safe, structured home environment.
  • Teach and reinforce important life skills, responsibility, and healthy decision-making.
  • Encourage positive behaviors while serving as a consistent role model.
  • Work alongside an experienced team of professionals who are committed to helping youth succeed.
  • Participate in recreational, educational, and community activities with residents.

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals who are:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school graduates or GED recipients
  • Passionate about helping young people grow and succeed
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and extended shifts when needed

Experience working with youth is helpful but doesn't have to come from a traditional human services role. Coaching, mentoring, childcare, military service, recreation, customer service, security, faith-based organizations, and other leadership experiences are all valuable.

Why Methodist Home for Children?

When you join our team, you're not just accepting a job; you're beginning a career with purpose. We invest in our employees through competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
