STEM Tutor

Duties


- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students both online and in person high school and/or college in the following subject areas

  • Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics
  • Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • ACT/SAT/ASVAB/HSPT
  • Preference will be given to applicants capable of tutoring humanities courses in addition to the above STEM courses

- Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage and motivate students
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback in session reports to admin, parents/guardians, and teachers
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align tutoring sessions with classroom curriculum
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
- Reliably commute from client to client
 

Qualifications

-At least 2 years of high school and/or college tutoring experience
- Previous experience working with students, preferably in a high school and/or college setting
- Knowledge of various teaching methods and techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
