No evenings, no weekends, no on-call. Bachelor's in a life science required — nursing background not necessary. We'll train the right person.
Bedford Research Foundation, a nonprofit biomedical research institute, is hiring a part-time SPAR Coordinator to support patients and daily operations in our reproductive health program. You'll be the primary point of contact for patients navigating a specialized, sensitive fertility process, and you'll work alongside a small, collegial team of researchers and clinicians.
Great fit for a biology or life-science grad, a clinical research coordinator, or a career-changer who wants meaningful, patient-facing science work on a predictable part-time schedule.
What you'll do
- Guide SPAR patients: answer questions, coordinate appointments, provide compassionate and confidential support
- Coordinate care with referring physicians and fertility clinics
- Maintain detailed records of specimens, results, and patient accounts
- Assist with specimen processing and PCR laboratory procedures
- Handle billing and patient account management
- Support ongoing reproductive health research
Required
- Bachelor's degree in biology, life sciences, or a related field (supports our lab license)
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing confidential records
- Warm, professional communication with patients facing sensitive diagnoses
- Discretion, reliability, and sound judgment
- Comfort with Mac OS and standard applications
A plus (not required)
- Clinical, laboratory, or research experience
- Phlebotomy experience
- RN/LPN license, medical assistant, or clinical research coordinator background
Compensation & benefits
- $35–$44/hour based on experience
