Lab Technician (Biology/Microbiology/Food Science/Entry Level)
Russell Tobin is hiring an Lab Technician to join our client's laboratory team.
We are seeking recent graduates and early-career professionals with a background in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science who are looking to launch their careers in a hands-on laboratory environment. This 1-year contract opportunity offers valuable experience supporting food safety, quality control, microbiological testing, laboratory analysis, and product development while working alongside experienced scientists in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform routine laboratory testing to support food safety, quality assurance, and product development activities.
- Prepare, analyze, and document food, ingredient, and environmental samples using established laboratory procedures.
- Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical testing while maintaining accurate laboratory records.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Support quality investigations, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while following food safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline required.
- Recent graduates and candidates with 0–2 years of laboratory, quality, or research experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, microbiology, laboratory testing, and scientific documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Important Details:
- Employment Type: 1-year Contract opportunity.
- Schedule/Shift: Monday–Friday, First Shift.
- Location: Minneapolis, MN 100% On-site.
- Pay Range: $20/hr - $22/hr (based on experience).
