Voter Registration Canvasser
Job Description
The Aguila Voter Registration Canvassers work with ASA statewide, as well as their respective regional organizer. Aguila is a non-partisan 501c(3), and this program is non-partisan. The voter registration canvasser reports to their Regional Organizer. The Voter Registration Canvasser is responsible for the implementation of strategies and activities regarding Aguila/ASA priority issues; in this case, voter registration. This person spends the majority of their time in their community registering students to vote on college campuses or where students tend to congregate. This position is a contractor position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Voter Registration Canvasser works with the ASA staff.
- Will learn to be an expert at registering students to vote.
- Will develop skills to register a large number of students
- Will help with recruiting students who are interested in the Vote work.
- Will be responsible for making sure that they help students fill out voter registration forms to the best of their ability.
- Will answer questions about voting to students and will ask their superiors if they do not know.
- The goal of this position is to help Aguila/ASA register a total of 2,000 new voters statewide.
- Assist with planning and preparation for Aguila/ASA Voter Registration events.
