Location: On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia
Your Day to Day as a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer:
- Provides shop support for operations in a manufacturing unit and functions as the area expert for equipment and processes.
- Interfaces with operators to troubleshoot/resolve equipment and operational problems as they arise.
- Design and implement manufacturing processes using new and existing equipment based on customer requirements.
- Develops and maintains operating procedures and technical documentation for area processes/equipment.
- Implements process improvements for safety and efficiency.
- Assist Engineering personnel with data analysis and submittal documents for approval of new/ modified processes.
- Interface between operators, management, maintenance, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop technical specifications for new hardware and software procurements/development as division needs support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics is required.
- Must possess at least two (2) years of related experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain an U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
- Must have strong skills in technical/critical thinking and independent work capability. The position takes innovative approach to solving new and legacy problems.
- Must have strong Quality and Safety-focused decision making, making use of internal and external resources as necessary when operating independently.
- Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Needs demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment.
