Assistant Superintendent

WIELAND’s Assistant Superintendents are expected to take ownership and ensure a successful project with a focus on Safety, Documentation and Site Coordination.  They will work directly with Project Teams to provide overall onsite management assistance for the safe and timely completion of the construction project. 

    Safety Mindset

  • Adhere and enforce the safety and cleanliness of the jobsite.
  • Monitor and walk the jobsite daily to ensure compliance with WIELAND safety standards.
  • Identify and communicate any safety concerns to the Site Superintendent.

    Documentation

  • Maintain document control of all critical information under their responsibility including safety paperwork, insurance and contract documentation.
  • Asist in preparing detailed and accurate daily reports within the current project management software.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain all trade partners’ safety paperwork.  Includes JSAs, weekly and monthly paperwork, sub safety policies, SDS, hazcom paperwork, etc.
  • Maintain a photo library of project progress within the current software system, per WIELAND’s standards, that is easily accessible and understandable. 
  • CUI Handling: responsible for safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information per NIST SP 800-171 and company policy, including proper access controls, encryption, secure storage/transfer, logging incident reporting and audit readiness.

    Site Coordination

  • Assist in daily coordination and supervision of trade partners, workers, and suppliers.  
  • Attend jobsite coordination meetings depending on project demands and ensure meeting minutes are documented and saved appropriately. 
  • Assist in proactively managing the schedule to ensure the project stays on schedule. 
  • Support the field team in various capacities from supervision of specific scopes of work/trade partners, clean-up, task completion verification, and safe work practices. 
  • Communicate potential future problems to the Site Superintendent, perform research, and propose preventative action as applicable. 

    Schedule

  • Collaborate with project team to maintain schedule during the course of the project.
  • Ability to assist in developing and maintaining a 3-4 week look ahead schedule and hold trade partners accountable in meeting the schedule.   

Quality Control

  • Ensure all trade partners, workers, and suppliers perform according to contract provisions, and construction documents, including specifications, and drawings.
  • Ability to develop familiarity with site requirements, material and project relevant scopes of work.   
  • Attend pre-installation meetings with trade partners.
  • Attend punch list meetings with trade partners and complete the punch list in an appropriate amount of time.

Qualifications 

  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Procore experience, preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand and use technology in the field.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as project demands.
