OVERVIEW
A Building-Based Substitute Teacher will be assigned to our Primary School (K-2). ECS substitute teachers must have strong teaching abilities, an understanding of pedagogy and instructional practices in their respective field of education, and a strong interest in environmental studies. ECS teachers work in a highly collaborative environment, making deep connections with students. Candidates should be energetic and progressive-minded, with a willingness to work collaboratively with grade-level and specialist teams.
Educational Background and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- PA teacher certification. Out-of-state certification must be approved by the PA Dept. of Education
- Familiarity with charter schools and primary grade levels.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary of $36,758 plus participation in a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, and participation in a generous 403b retirement plan.

Clearances current within one year of start date will be required and include: Arrest/Conviction Disclosure, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Clearance (Act 34), and FBI Criminal Background Check (114). Commonwealth of PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) and Mandated Reporter Training will also be required.
