Application Engineer- Contract-to-Hire

Nova is looking for an Application Engineer to join our team. This position will initially be hired on a contract basis, with the potential to convert to a direct Nova employee position in the future.

The contractor will work closely with Nova teams and be fully integrated into the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.

Employment Type: Contract, with potential for future conversion to a Nova employee.

What You'll Do

  • Develop innovative metrology applications for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Partner with customers and internal R&D teams to optimize product performance.
  • Support new product evaluations, beta programs, and customer demonstrations.
  • Analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and recommend solutions.
  • Create technical documentation and provide customer training and support.
  • Stay current on semiconductor technology trends and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing metrology.
  • Experience with data analysis : MATLAB or Python is a MUST.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Location: On-site, Portland, OR.
